Hello,

I am planning a system for my 2006 F150.  I have been trying to choose between a custom box and a 10" kicker, or an MTX Thunderform with a 12" speaker.  The amp I would like to use is the Alpine PDX-5 as it allows me to power all 4 of my 6x8s with 100W RMS, and provides 300W RMS to a sub channel at 2 or 4 ohm.  The kicker will easily handle the power, but the 12" MTX is only rated at 225W.  I like the look of the MTX much better than the carpeted look of a custom box, but I want it to sound good, thats the whole point, right?  So my question is 1 has anyone ever used an MTX thunderform, and what did you think?  And 2, can I send 300W RMS to a 225W RMS speaker?  By the way, the MTX speaker is described as: "12" Thunder4500 4-ohm subwoofer".  Thanks!

ED7
