your flash drive is probably too big for that JVC to handle. try an 8GB or read the manual and it should tell you what is the max size for a jump drive.

most jvc's that i have used only have run up to a 4gb succesfully.
like soundnsecurity said try a smaller flash drive.

No Idea how old your unit is, but the first generation of every manufacturers USB decks would read no bigger that a 4 Gig drive.  So a third vote on try a smaller drive.

ok guy ill try with a smaller flash drive but i still think i  might jave another problem since at times the screen shows black (but you can hear the music) and as soon as i detach the face and put it back on it will work

Some headunits lack enough power to operate larger flashdrives. have this problem with my Alpine W-505. Some forums have touched on hooking up a powered usb hub and converting it to 12 volts and then plugging the usb drive into the hub then the hub into the Headunit. I just decided to burn more mp3's instead of going through the hassle. Another option is to get a cigarette lighter usb charger and a usb y cable. Connect the car lighter charger to one end of the y then the flash drive to the other then plug into the headunit. Any of these do at your own risk you might blow a fuse on the headunit or worse.

Good Luck!
