Help!!!

I just purchased a Pioneer head unit for my 2006 Silverado 2500hd Crew Cab.  With the purchase I was provided the harness and chime unit based on the fact that my truck does NOT have Onstar nor Bose (more to follow).  However when I took out the factory radio I found that it had the 24 pin connector AND the 12 pin!  I tried (assuming the retailer knew their business) to install JUST using the 24 pin however it now interfeers with my remote start as well as my ABS and Brake lights blinking on and off on the dash and the chime going off while I drive.

Long story short..I don;t have Bose, didn;t pay for the option, nothing in or on the truck says bose, even the window sticker does not identify bose, no console to hide an amp in.  I found the harness/chime replacement that has both plugs on it but it says for "bose systems"??????  Do I have some other amplified stock unit and will this two plug harness solve my problem????

HELP!!!

Eric

I forgot to mention that the factory radio IS the factory XM Radio/Single CD.  Again it has both the factory 24 and 12 pin plug ins and the 12 pin is plugged in with wires/harness connected.

AHHHHHHH!!!!!

This am I went and purchased the Metra GMSO-01 harness and wired as required given my truck does not have Onstar....radio works perfectly as it did before, BUT I STILL HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM.  ABS and Brake lights flash on the dash and the chime goes off.  My remote start starts the truck, and then shuts off and keeps re-trying to start the truck.

HELP!!!!

start checking fuses with a meter if you have one. and check for shorts in your wire harness

I got it!!!  No shorts, just that the first Scosche harness/chime unit must have set a code in the trucks comupter causing the issue.  When I installed the new harness I got this morning, I did disconnect the negitive on one of the batteries but still had the same issue as I indicated in an earlier post.

Call me an idiot, but I went back out and thought that while I only need to disconnect one battery (it's a diesel and thus has two) to kill the 12v inside the truck, I would try the second one as well and let it set for a few minutes to see IF THAT cleared any set codes.

IT worked!  The original harness must have set a code and I needed to disconnect the negitive on BOTH batteries for a few to clear it!
