Hey guys,
I have a question...
A few friends of mine were talking; mind you non of us claim to be experts so I would like to get some info from someone with more knowledge that I have. I built a bandpass box that was designed to downfire due to limited space in the trunk. I no longer have the concerns for the space I needed before although I have some requirements. My question is sound quality wise would it be better to have the subs facing down roughly 2" from floor or would it be better to have the same box with the subs facing forward but only about 4 inches from the back seats?

If you have a trunk car firing into the cabin usually is less efficient unless you seal it off from the trunk or if you utilize the trunk as a resonant chamber.

Since you are talking about a bandpass enclosure it probably won't matter. ------------- Support the12volt.com

I second DYohn's answer, first, and second (...figure all THAT out.) you can't just down-fire ALL woofers. You are risking damaging the woofers if you insist on down-firing a woofer that can't handle it.
Since you are using a band-pass system, ALL of your sound quality went out the window, already, so if it sounds good to you the way it is (gah...) then run with it.
