I just put a new Alpine stereo in my 2006 Colorado, I had to run a accesory wire to the deck from the fuse panel. When I pput it back together and tried to start it, an error message came up on my dash saying "Reduced Power" and the truck won't idle properly, has any one else ran into this?

with reduced power im guessing your going to get an error code of internal pcm error i would recommend getting a buddy who has a computer code scanner preferably of the mac/ snap on etc.. variety to run a diagnostic test. did you disconnect the negative terminal on your battery before installing the cd player? and if not at any time did you accidently touch a wire to bare metal creating a spark??

You need to use a radio delete module to properly integrate the Alpine radio. The module will supply you with the proper wiring for the radio and a switched ignition wire. It will also handle the chime functions. If your vehicle has Onstar and you wish to retain it, certain modules will also take care of that. I will bet that you have incorrectly wired up the stereo. You may have connected into the Class II data bus or an incorrect ignition wire. Undo all your wiring and get the right parts for the job.
