Subject: subs not playing

have a 1500 W RMS(i think its overated though) monoblock amp connected to two cerwin vega HED124 subs(rated at 300w rms each). The voice coils of each sub are connected in parallel and then the subs are connected in parallel to the amp giving a 1 ohm load.

The problem is that when powered the subs dont play at all. I've double checked all connections, fuses and polarities and everything appears to be connected properly.

The power LED indicator on the amp does come on though.

Please help, i have no idea where i went wrong. Thanks

is your amp 1 ohm stable?

I dont think your amp is 1 ohm stable. Wire your subs in a series parallel configuration giving you a 4 ohm load.

Since you did not tell us what kind of amp you have, this may or may not be your problem.  Some amplifiers speaker terminals are as follows  + + - -.  As opposed to the traditional  + - + -.

The terminals are the +-+- configuration.

I've tried all possible wiring combinations from the subs to the amp and still there was no response from the subs.

We are still guessing here, since you still have not told us what kind of amp you have.  Does it have a Master/Slave switch on the amp?

The Amp is an Ice Power PS3600.

As far as i can tell there is no slave or master switch.

Is there another amp mounted near enough that you could remove the RCA cable from the other amp and connect it to the IcePower amp?  This will tell us if you have no signal on the IcePower's RCA cable.
