Hello, Im new to the forums. I have a 2003 Ford Expedition Eddie Bauer.

I have 2 12'subs, and a 1000w amp. I have the amp all wired to the subs, and to the pos. of my battery, and i have it grounded. I have ran an audio wire from the amp under the carpet through the dash up to behind the stock ford radio/cd changer.

Now my truck already has an amp and 8inch sub. There is a clip in back of the radio/cd changer. There are four wires coming out of it, These four go back to the amp in the trunk. The kit I have, ran 4 wires up. So the number of wires is right. Am I doing everything right so far? Hope so.

So the four wires coming out, i want to tap so they go to my amp too.

I dont know what wires to connect.

Heres a pic of the wires coming out. They are deffinatley the bass:

dont tap into wires unless you know what they do first. i believe only 2 of those wires will be the audio signal wires for your factory amp. im assuming the 4 wires you refer to that are comming from your new amp are the line level inputs. these wires are meant to go straight to speaker wires not the signal wires for your factory amp.

the four wires coming up from the amp are actually 2 wires. They go into the "Audio In" Section of the amp. inside these wires are two wires wrapped around each other. one has a white and black, the other a gray and black.

oh ok, i see what you did. you just cut up a set of RCAs. i guess what you are trying to do will work BUT you need to make absolutely sure that you hook them to the audio signal wires for the factory amp. if you tap it into anything else you run the risk of frying the inputs of your new amp. you should have just purchased a line output converter from an audio shop to convert a normal speaker wire into RCAs that your amp can use

also not sure if you did or didn't but you need to fuse your power wire a few inches from the battery.

ohh, i see. well the RCAs came with the kit i got on sale, so i figured id make them work. I just need to figure out what to connect these to.

Im not even sure if this amp will work.

you will need to buy an adapter for the steering wheel controlls, but if you are going to buy something else just buy another set of RCAs since your are hacked and buy a line output converter. this will be way cheaper than buying the steering wheel adapter and way easier to install

when i purchased a head unit from crutchfield they sent me a wiring harness adapter for the stock sub wiring the best thing to do is to just buy a 4 awg amp wiring kit and a new reciever i needed about 20 ft of wire to get to the back
