I have been hearing of a lot of people mounting 8" midbass drivers up front(3-way setup), in order to "lock" the bass up front, ect. I was wondering if this is a wise choice for a SQ orientated system 'cause I'm thinking of doing this but I would like some feedback on the pros/cons of doing this. And what speaker would be A good choice for this type of setup, Thanks for your time.

We installed a 8 " subwoofer into the doors our Integra and the imaging is great. The bass sounds just like it was infront of your sound stage ( no trunk bass ). I highly suggest doing this if room is available.

I have some pics of the installation ( hard to see though ) here: https://www.velocitymotorsport.com/hot_rides/2002_Comp_Pics.htm The subs I used were Alpine XR 8 " subs and I had 3 Boston Acoustic 12.5 LF subs in the trunk. It's all in a 1992 Integra GS-R. Check it out and tell me what you think ?

PS: Plans for the F1 processor & HU are already in the works posted_image

Well, IMHO the car is a tad to riced for my taste, but none the less an excellent car. Gotta love the B17posted_image. The sound system looks real good, very original. Esp. liked what you did with the glove box and vents. Hatch looks awesome as well. Wish I had something like that in my Teg. Good luck w/everything.posted_image

Well you just named some very good ones in your post. You can also look at MB Quart & Boston Acoustics. They are rather expensive, but well worth the money.

Dynaudio, AVI, Morel, a/d/s/, Rainbow...

although I honestly have to say the Focal PolyKevlars really are hard to beat when you are asking for a really strong midbass...the AVIs are pretty strong as well...

you may want to look for Focals 5" sub (5ws if I remember correctly...) for a 5" speaker, they sure can get down low...simply amazing...when I buy another car that has room allowance for more than a set of 5" components I am torn between a new Kevlar set with a pair or more of 5ws' or the AVI's Tristar BSMs...may be worth an audition if you can get the opportunity...
