I have a 03 Mustang gt. I just installed a Kenwood 8104-D amp and two Kenwood 12's can't remember the model number. I have the subs wired in parallel to a 2ohm load because of the 1 channel amp 500X1 at 2 ohms and 300x1 at 4 ohms. Its stable at 2 ohm's. I used a budget to get a little bump in the trunk.
From time to time my subs are cutting off from 3-10 seconds.I could go an hour without cutting off or just a few minutes. Whether its cold or hot. So I don't think its going into a protect mode. I do know it does not cut off I'm not driving. It always stays on if I'm in a stand still. I'm not losing power to the amp the light stays on. There is no whining or popping. Other than the cutting out. It sounds great.
Can somebody help?

Your amp could be losing power and the light will appear to stay lit. Most LEDs will stay lit for a few seconds after remote power is removed. Chance are you have either a bad connection at the battery or the fuse holder at the battery. Or possibly a bad ground. With the amp playing, open the hood and grab and move the power wire and fuse holder, move them around and see if you can make it cut out. If no luck there, go to the amp and move the power and ground connections in the same manner. Follow the ground wire to the point of connection to the car and move it also. If neither of the above makes it cut out, hit the top of the amp to see if there is a bad solder joint inside of the amp.
