So I have a 99 Ranger with four tens. They are currently in a sealed box (each sub has it's own chamber) facing down. It sounds good, but it can be better. I have made ported boxes before, but very simple ones. I have asked some people I work with and i get mixed answers. Can you have a ported box with the subs facing down and the ports facing up, if so how? I know there are other options for more bass, but if this can I work I would like to try it. Thanks for any help

Sure, you can point ports up.  Makes for a fun game tossing quarters into them.

What you should not do is simply add a port to an existing sealed enclosure unless you model it first to predict how it will sound.
