I just ordered this amp a couple days ago and since then(Soundstream TRX4.420) I've heard some people say that Soundstream was garbage, I havent hooked it up yet before this I was using some cheap wal mart sony so I was hoping this was going to be alot better than it. I mean it is a wal-mart amp so it shouldnt take much to for the soundstream to be better than the sony, it will be powering 2 Infinity Kappa 6x9s and later on a set of componet speakers from infinity. Anyway just asking for people opinions on this Soundstream amp and the company as a whole
If I recall correctly Soundstream is now owned by PowerAcoustik - which isn't exactly known for quality. Back in the day Soundstream used to make really excellent equipment - the Reference and Rubicon lines come to mind - but - as you now know - SS doesn't get much respect since getting pick up by PowerAcoustik.
However Kappa 6x9's are hardly asking alot of an amplifier - I don't think you'll find yourself DISpleased . . .

The amp supposedly has a signal to noise ratio of 105 i just want the amp to sound clear and not distorted will i get that with this amp hopefully
and where did the team that made the good soundstream amps what brand do they work for now?
