Anyone have any tips for removing this trim, the Metra kit has pictures, but it just says remove it, not how.

all the trim is held in with plastic snap clips, they are a pain to remove, most of trim pieces put straightout, good luck

id be really surprised if that was actually wood trim and not just plastic made to look like wood. but yeah it is probably just clips holding it on. you should use a panel popper ( a plastic crow bar) to put even pressure on the points of most resistance. if it feels like it is taking a lot of power to just pop it off, then you might want to look for some screws behind any panels that are around it, but sometimes fresh panels can be hard to pop off if they've never been removed before. just be smart and use common sense

come to think of it , I think you have to remove the side panel first then I think there are some screws on the top trim peice, then everything else pops off, I had to replace some of the clips, because after I removed them some broke, I told the customer and they "said" they were O.K. with it

The panel that wraps undernear the center of the dash and over to the passenger side is held in only by clips. The panel underneath the driver's side dash should also be removed because the fake wood trim has a flange on the end of it that is covered by this panel. It is best to use a wide plastic panel trim tool to gently pry the trim off. It is best to start from just above the glove box and work your way to the left. Be careful how much force you use as the dash and other trim marks easily. The panel is fairly tight at each point just below and on each side of the HVAC controls. You must also remove the panel on top of the dash directly above the radio. It is either a pocket with 2 screws in it or a speaker grill with screws below it. The grill pops up but care is needed. Once you get the wood trim off, there are 2 screws on each side of the HVAC controls that hold the remaining trim on. The rest is clips.
