Just wondering if anyone knows how to remove a bmw radio that the screw behind the volume knob has been damaged or is missing? Such an easy radio to remove normally but somebody boogered up the screw or knocked it out or something.

keep posting in your original thread, you'll get answers, don't make two threads about the same thing.

I am not sure about that year of vehicle, but the ones with the screws on the edges of the trim ring are 2MM allen screws.  Did you try a 2MM allen wrench?

+1, im pretty sure you will just need to take out the two allen screws on either side of the radio and it will just side out. a small piece of trim hides these screws if you didnt know they were there

I am, and sound, you are one model older. He is asking about the separate radio and drive that has the hex screw behind the volume control.

it's actually missing. there is nothing in the hole. i can see some sort of bar going from side to side behind where the screw was.
