If anyone knows the color codes for the stereo diagrams for a 94 plymouth laser and could give me any tips, i would really appriciate it! thanksa ton

Does it go out if you turn the vehicle on? Or just when you turn the key to the ACC position? And do you hear any weird noises just before it shuts down?

Where do you have your ground ? I ask because I installed a stereo the other day in a UK spec'd VW Passat and the GROUND wire from the back of the radio wasn't an absolute ground and I had the same problem. I ended up just taking a ground from the lighter and it worked like a charm.

the stereo turns off no matter what. and i have the ground touching metal on the interior of the stereo, thats what I was told to do. I mean it seems liek it should work, it just doesn't want to stay on longer than a few seconds!

If you have a voltmeter, measure the voltage from + to ground, both of them should be between 12 and 14 (about 12 if car is off, usually about 13.5 if it is on)
