need opinion on which box i should go wit

alright... so i made a thread awhile back that was sort of like this one but it was just asking what you guys had thought was the best type of enclosure (sealed vs Ported). This thread is more of a what would be best for my situation.

heres my setup.
2003 Hyundai Tiburon GT
Sub: Kicker 12" COMP VR 2ohm DVC 400 Watts RMS I have 2 of these (currently 1 in a sealed box)
AMP: Kicker zx 300.1 300 watts RMS

I mainly listen to alot of rap music and not so much any rock. So would I be better off with 1 sub in a sealed enclosure and not be able to push it enough with my 300 watt amp or go back to my ported box with both subs?

I do like having alot more room with sealed but at the same time I find myself turning the gain up all the way ALOT because it just does not seem loud enough.

what do you guys think?

By the way I have a sealed enclosure that I made out of fiberglass and I also have the ported box from kicker that the subs came in.

this is what i would do, put them in a port box because in that small car you can put a lot of air with so little system.

what?

if you use the 2 of them you should go ported, but only if you have the space in your car. i say you should go ported because you already barely have enough power for 1 so a ported box will give you a bit of a boost to compensate for less power. personally i would just use 1 in a good ported box, i wouldn't use that kicker box because it is weak as hell. nothing holding it together except a little glue and the carpet.

+1 Make a custom ported box. Also adding a second sub is not going to do much with out added power, except take up more space.

If you would like the one sub to very powerful with only 300 rms do like the others said and go ported .In addition to what they all said go on kicker.com find out the max rec vented enclosure volume and go that route.Port the eclosure to 35hz if you would like strong low end bass witch tends to be in most rap songs.I understand you dnt want to give up space but if you want that cvr to pound with only 300rms build the box as big as you can.

problem is that his amp puts out 300 rms at 2 ohm and his sub would be wired series.

i.e.  4 ohms at the amp so he will only get 150 rms at best :( and the sub is rated @ 400 rms.

best option is to get a real amp for them :)

Ported box for the win..... if you want low air moving bass (you do obviously) then go ported
