for an extra battery in the back, yes, do not use it for starting cranking, youll fry it. but also get the solenoid/battery isolator. with it. the onl;y thing that kinda sux about these is that you need the charger from stinger, or find a proceessor charger, to charge these you can not charge them with a regular charger. so it does kinda get pricey. aother recomendation. get a kinetik battery like the 600 or the 800 less pricey and more juice. and you can drive these like crazy
------------- installers do it best. we got the magic hands!

I've installed many of the SPV as main batteries and secondary batteries without issues. Both cars and boats. With a properly working Alternator there's no charging problems. Long tern non-use is when the all important charger is necessary or when charging batts used for displays, etc. The SP Series(red)are made for Stinger by Odyssey. If you buy it from Odyssey you get a six year warranty vs the Stinger 1 year. I won't go back to Optima after using these.
