Hello,

I recently installed a Kenwood DNX7120 and an Alpine PDX-5 amp in my truck.  I replaced all the factory speakers with the best that Infinity had to offer, and added a 12" MTX thunderform under the rear seat.  I have always used the crossovers in the amps to set my levels, but find that the Kenwood offers so much control over the crossover from the head unit I am beginning to wonder if I shouldn't use it instead of the amp's dials?  Is there a disadvantage to this?  I can definately see the advantage as I would be able to tweak my system from the dash without getting access to my amp.  Please advise as I currently have my amp under the front passenger seat, but would like to permantely mount it on the rear wall where I would effectively never see it again.  Thanks!

ED7

nothing wrong with using both. depending on the type or crossover ( highpass, lowpass) and how they are set in relation to each other, one will cancel the other out. personally i would use the one on the kenwood because its right there in front of you.
