I'm doing an install in a 2001 tahoe. I need to mount two alpine amps, a 2 channel and a four channel. The rear cargo area is off limits due to cargo and kids that are routinely back there. The rear seat is getting a speaker box for two 10's underneath it, so no room under there for the amps. Teh two front seats dont have any room under them due to all the power motors and crap crammed under them. Any ideas?
What about making a fake floor in the cargo area or boxing them in at the rear seat back?

What about the amps in between the front seats in a custom console? Maybe even the roof................Not alot of easy solutions
If you're building a custom enclosure for under the rear seat, incorporate amplifier mounting locations into it, even if it means you need to make the enclosure a little smaller than planned.

Those seem like good ideas, but not in my situation. As for mounting the amps in a fake floor or box, that will cause them to get too hot. And yes I'm have custom boxes made for under the rear seats (the second row or middle seats) but the boxes will be JUST large enogh for a woofer. I have the rear captain chairs(rear buckets)and I'm have a small box for a 10in woofer under each seat. I only have a 15x13x7inch space to work with. A co-worker suggested I black out the rear side windows and build an amp rack to cover the window (or both windows). Has anyone here done that? I saw a magazine where it was done in a hummer h3 but it was a woofer box covering each rear side window and the rear cargo area was still 100% useable.
