I'm looking for a double head unit for my 2003 Jetta. When I say double din I mean one that has a screen not just a regular radio that is a double din size. I'm going to use my iPod the most so I need one that works well with it. Other then that I don't need anything special though I would like a touch screen.

Price range of $600 or less.

you'd be hard pressed to find a double din that doesn't work with Ipod these days, with an adapter ofcourse. my friend just bought an eclipse 6000 series, not sure the exact model, for around that price. but it had navi too so you could probably find something for even less. personally i like the clarions iPod interface if thats what you are looking for.

I got this one from a website (supposedly $1000 off the regular price). Don't know if that's the true price, but after comparison, it's the best deal I could find anywhere. Works great. It's an Eclipse.

The Alpine 505 will do all that, as well... While it is quite a distance from your 600 dollar budget, my W205 wouldn't be. I've truly babied it, and I am looking to upgrade. PM me if you're interested, and we can maybe work out some details?

It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

Do you need GPS navigation or not? Alex1711, you bought a 3 year old model, I would hope that it is a deal....

I don't need GPS, it is a plus but definitely not a requirement.

No offense 12vltfrk, but Jensen is not a brand I would consider buying. I haven't used any of their newer models but I use to sell them among other brands and never liked their products. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Thanks for the offer, I may be interested. I tried to PM you put your mailbox was full.

It may be a little while before I actually purchase a unit. I'm just kind of exploring what is out there. If you PM me and let me know what you are looking for as far as price I would appreciate it.

Okay, I narrowed it down a little bit and I am currently looking at a couple of models. What do you guys think about any of these units?

1) Pioneer AVH-P3100DVD
2) JVC KW-AVX720
3) Panasonic CQ-VW100U

The Panasonic is a little old but I can get a pretty good deal on it.

Is there any other models that you guys like? I am open for suggestions.

I've been eye balling the Pioneer AVH-P4100DVD for a few weeks now, i've been hoping for someone to make a topic like this since mine was ignored.

I prefer the 7" screen for my 06 STI.

If you get it let me know how you like it. Now I am considering that unit now. I may be getting it soon. If so I will post a review about it if no one does so by then.

Will do, I'm currently away on business for about the next week and a half, so It will not be until then, if someone wouldnt mind PM'ing me some install tips for a dual DIN, if there is a "clamshell" type system or how it mounts to replace since they say no dash kit is required.

Thanks
