What is your enclosure made out of?
What are you hoping to accomplish by spraying the inside of the enclosure?

3/4" MDF and Pioneer seggests putting a sound dampening material in the box. Whether its dynamat or something of that sort. And the spray would be alot easier but if its not going to hold like the normal materials then I wont worry about it.

Using any kind of sound dampening material inside an enclosure is useless.

They may be talking about that fiber-fill stuff. I know a lot of box builders use it because they claim it slows down the sound waves and the woofer performs as if it were in a bigger box. Some people say it make no difference, yet some people swear by it.

Spray it in to make sure it's "air tight"  Thats all it's good for!

Well, I don't know about the rest of you guys, But I built a HT sub a while back, and the box was huge, the damn thing pounded like there was no tomorrow.... this was without any filling in the box.

I decided at one point to added some polyfill and I stuffed the box pretty well with it, it DEFINITELY made the sub sound different, the bass seemed a little tighter, less echoy, and more clean.

I can't speak for spray, But I can say from experience that putting a dampening material in the box helps.

I guess it depends on your box too, nothing will help a doodiety box :)
