I heard you can do it on a dual voice coil but can it be done on a single.
What are the pros and cons of this?
As for the single coil linking up to 2 amps will it work or just end up damaging the equipment.

It is called strapping amps. There are no pros or cons. Its two amps. Double the power. Nothing complicated to think about.

Yes it can be done on one voice coil. With today’s equipment this is a scenario that rarely lends it’s self to an advantage. You need to have to identical amps that either have this feature built in or you need a devise that will invert the signal going to one amp. Chances are that if you are asking about this configuration, you will be getting in over your head.

Nothing complicated about it, but the amps do need to be strappable. You can't go connecting just any old amps together to one voice coil. The easiest way to tell if the amp is strappable is to look for the Master/Slave switch and the telephone jack looking connector on the front of the amp.
There may be some strappable amps out there without the Master/Slave switch.

The amps that I have do have the master/slave switch on it(Zapco amps to an old school stroker). So the way to go about wiring this is negative from one amp and positive from the other to the sub or if it is a dual voice coil you can wire the same as an single or a amp to each coil right.
