Hi,
Basically I have a factory intstalled Amp that currently gets 2v from the factory Head Unit. I want to replace the Factory head unit with a JVC Head Unit with 5v RCA preouts, but I have to keep the existing amp.
My question is: Does the voltage of the preouts change with the volume the Head Unit is set to? Eg If I keep the volume low on the head unit, would the RCA voltage be less then the specs of 5v?
Any help would be great.
Cheers

With the volume turned all the way down, there is 0 volts coming out of the RCA jacks of the radio. As you turn the volume up the voltage increases. You can connect the 5 volt radio to the 2 volt amplifier. However if someone were to turn the volume of the new radio all the way up, it could get kind of loud.

Ok thanks. Sounds like from what you said it should work as long as I keep the volume down on the head unit
