so basically a customer came in today and brought a four channel soundstorm amplifier he wanted installed, so i don't really install products i've never heard of unless i have an idea of how reputable it is, so i just wanted any basic feedback from anyone who installed amps from this manufacturer, so i'll let the customer know if i'll be doing it for him or not, thanks in advance.

I have not installed any of these. I have repaired more than a few of them. The fact that they came out with that line right as the American company Soundstream had failed. They had the name so similar that many people thought they had purchased a SoundStream amp. Garbage in my opinion.

I sold the line for a couple of years in the early 00's. Why, it had a 7 year warranty on them and they were affordable. Did they make the power they claimed? Definitely not. Did we make the customer aware of that, yes we did. The line was solid for the one series of amps we used, the speakers and the subs fialed (sp) miserably. If it is what the customer has brought you, it is what he has brought you. I would do the install and charge him the time. If it works that is good for him and you can see what the amp really does. If it does not, then you have the chance to sell him a new amp.

ok thanks guys, i know i could do the install and charge the time, but, the shop is way too busy these days to waste time behind something that may just increase stress levels, so i'll pass this time, but thanks for the heads up guys, it's appreciated.

so not to burst my own bubble but, the cusomer came by today, so he decided he would purchase an amp, so i decided since i'm gonna do the install i might as well try the amp to hear how it performs, i have to say it wasn't half bad, it actually played quite well, i used it for the mid range though, no bass.
