need amp and head unit advice

I have 3  jl 12 w6 4 ohm sub in a slot ported box. not sure of what amp to go with what amp go with. was thinking of going with the jl 1000/1 (not sure if that enough power) or the kicker zx1500.1( heard its not a good amp). Was also wanting to get a head unit and was lookin between the alpine iva-w505 or the kenwood ddx-714. its going in a 2004 chevy tahoe. any advice given will be greatly appreciated

Go with the alpine. It will have much better sound quality than the kenwood, and it will be more reliable. As for the subs are they single voice coil 4 ohm subs, or dual 4 ohm? If single 4 ohm you have 2 wiring options, Either a 1.3 ohm load or a 12 ohm load. The 1000/1 is only rated at 1.5 ohms so it may give you a problem with overloading. As for the Kicker it is only stable down to 2 ohms, so it would not work for your setup. Why not run 2 of the W6's In that case you will have a 2 ohm load, and the 1000/1 would be a good choice for that setup. You wont notice any difference in the output of 2 subs vs. 3 subs

they are dual 4 ohms. there wired too a 2.67 ohm load for an amp.

Go with the JL 1000/1 or look into the JBL GTO14001 if you want a little more power. Either of thoes should work nicely though.

what about the  kicker zx1500.1????
