I have a old school Orion 225 HCCA that I am going to load 1.3ohms bridged.  My question is does the hot wire need to be replaced with a larger gage wire.  The wire that came on it looks to be a 10 gage  wire.  Should I desolder this from the board and put in a 8 gage?  Thanks.

I did it on mine, (actually, IIRC, I used a #6) and it made a HUGE difference in how warm the amp ran. I recommend it, but be careful, it takes quite a bit of heat to solder a #8 to a circuit board, and you DO risk burning surrounding circuitry.

It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."
