ok i have an 04 dodge dakota extended cab, i wish to build a ported downfiring box for the rear. my question is i have found two types ofre subs i like, the SR series and SE series. i have the choice to run either 3 12" re SR series(each 300rms, 1.5^3 tuned 35hz), or 2 12" re SE series(each 600rms 2.0^3 tuned 33hz), which do you think would be best for the money considering both setups are the same price? any input will be appreciated. thanks

the 2 12's would need a little bit bigger amp so you might want the 3 12's if you have enough space for all of them

Wow with the signature you have I would expect some better comments from you.   MORE IS BETTER?      Not true one bit.

OP a good post for you to read would be this one about woofer sag and looking to see which woofers would work best in a downfire enclosure

i understand what you are trying to place here but what do you thank? I have both sets then the XXX which i like much better but this is not about me. He asked what i thank and i answered. 3x's the air moving in a small enclosure well get the best numbers for what he got. there is some people that has got away(lucky) with less but as long as i have been building boxes more is better.

here are the specs of both subs
SR12"
Electrical Q Value -Qes: 0.41
Mechanical Q Value -Qms: 4.99
Total Speaker Q Value -Qts: 0.38
Free Air Resonance -Fs: 23.6 Hz
Equivalent Compliance -Vas: 85 liters
One-Way, Linear Excursion -Xmax: 18 mm
Efficiency -SPL 1W/1m: 86.2 dB SPL
Effective Piston Area -Sd: 480 cm^2
DC Resistance -Re: 1.8 ohm
Nominal Impedance -Znom: Dual 2/4 ohm
Thermal Power Handling -Pe: 300 W
Force Factor -Bl: 14.35

SE12"
Electrical Q Value -Qes: 0.49
Mechanical Q Value -Qms: 4.5
Total Speaker Q Value -Qts: 0.44
Free Air Resonance -Fs: 25.1 Hz
Equivalent Compliance -Vas: 72.9 liters
One-Way, Linear Excursion -Xmax: 18 mm
Efficiency -SPL 1W/1m: 86.1 dB SPL
Effective Piston Area -Sd: 480 cm^2
DC Resistance -Re: 2.8 ohm
Nominal Impedance -Znom: Dual 2/4 ohm
Thermal Power Handling -Pe: 600 W
Force Factor -Bl: 17.7

so let him thank on what he want because no matter what we state on this form, he is the one in control of the money and time to build it. Good luck
