Hey all!  I've had my eclipse 5444 for about four years now and I am thinking its time to upgrade to a newer unit.  I've had the new alpine cda-9887 but after about a week I decided the eclipse was better when it came to sound quality, so I took it back and put my eclipse back in.  I am wondering if anyone knows of a good head unit that sounds as good or better but has ipod connectivity, plays wma/mp3's and is hd ready?

First off...... Nice Car... haha. I have the same car, i have an Alpine ida-x200. I've had several HU's and this one tops the rest in SQ. Its got IPOD control, HD radio ready, SAT radio ready. You can plug in any usb device and it'll read it. Only thing, it doesnt have a CD player. but this is 2009 and CD's are just about done anyways......... Oh, another plus,  i got mine from best buy for oly $150.

I run pioneer i've done from the 2000 with the aux on the front to the avic N3 dvd Nav and I love pioneer and will recomend it to anyone Good sound easy to use there are models that come with aux input, aux input and usb on the front, and direct usb cable from the back and you can put your nipod in you glove box and never look at it again. Yes CD's are on there way out but if your like me and find making playlists a hassle it's nice to have that cd with that certain song you really need to hear and being able to throw it in.
