My cousin recently purchased a 1972 Chevrolet Cheyenne Truck, and I am trying to figure out the wire colors for the car so I can clean up the electrical system by getting rid of all the unnecessary wires that have been integrated into the system.

I also want to install a cd player in the truck, but he doesn't want to cut up the dash, so where can I install it?

Do they make any kits for older trucks like this?

Thanks

You can get a universal underdash mounting kit.

Thanks, what about the wire colors or harnesses? I haven't been able to find any information on this truck.

If the cigarette lighter has an orange wire connected to it, that is constant voltage.  There should be a yellow wire that is switched 12 volts.  A black wire for ground.  A grey wire is illumination.  There are 2 grey wires, you will need to use a volt meter to see which one has 12 volts on it when the lights are turned on.  If fthere are 2 speakers, those wire colors should be Grey and Tan.  and Dark Green and Olive Green.   Oh nevermind.
