i posted a few weeks ago about my problem ,.,, i fried my memphis pr600 it was a 2 channel class AB amp,, i replaced it with a hifonics brutis bxi 1606d,,, i have 2 infinity kappa perfect vq subs dual voice coil 4 ohm coils,, at first i wired it to play at 4 ohms ,,, sounded like crap hardly any power at all,,, then i wired it at 1 ohm the thing hits alot harder then my memphis amp did, but it doesnt sound as clean,,, if i had a external crossover will it sound any cleaner???? please help by the way the brutis amp is a super class D mono amp its doing 1600x1 rms ,,, is it possible the thiers just so much more bass thats why it doesnt sound as clean?? i noticed the low bass doesnt sound as good as the memphis amp did,,,,, please help

the reason for that is because the THD is a lot lower but the bass output is For this reason D blocks run cooler and dont need fans to cool then. if you want it clean stay with an AB amp but if you want true bass the go with the D block.

Huh?  About the only thing in this message that makes any sense is that Class D amps run cooler than A/B.  The rest is nonsense.

The likely reason your Memphis amp sounded better than Hifonics is simply that it is a much better quality amp.  Less distortion meaning cleaner power.  Plus loading the Hifonics at 1-ohms is asking it to do a lot and pushing it to its limits.  It's probably producing 15% distortion.
