How would I go about wiring a 4 ohm DVC sub to this amp. A diagram would help a lot if someone could post one in here. (https://www.lanzar.com/itempage.asp?model=VIBE420#)

The subs specs:
Infinity Kappa 120.1DVC
Impedance: 2 or 8 Ohms
Power Handling Peak: 1200W
Power Handling RMS: 300W

That is a 4 channel amplifier. If you are planning to use the amp strictly for your subs, you need to bridge each pair of channels on one coil of the woofer. Do the same with the other pair of channels and the other coil. The bridge terminals of the amp should be marked somehow. Chances are they will be the left positive and right negative wires.

I have the same question. My DVC subs are 8-ohm, but with two 4-ohms in each. I opted out of the dual 2-ohm and instead got the dual 4-ohm DVC's. The pair of subs I got to replace my previous single voice coil subs are Kenwood KFC-W3514D and the mono sub amp that will be driving them is a Kenwood KAC-9204D.

The amp owner's manual shows how to hook up 1 DVC sub, but not a pair. It shows hooking 1 voice coil to one set of + & - and the other voice coil to the other set of + and - connections. But it doesn't show how to hook up a pair of DVC subs. The amp does have two sets of + and - connections, so I could always run a pair of subs with no problem. However, now I'm wondering if I made a mistake buying a pair of DVC subs for a mono amp.

Can someone tell me the correct way to wire up the DVC subs? Not that I'm brain dead, but these are my first pair of DVC subs I've ever owned so wiring them to the amp could get a bit tricky.

The amp is 1-ohm stable, but I really didn't want to go that low. The subs are only 12's, and I'm not trying to shake houses as I go by. I just want nice bass with a good thump. I listen mostly to chill, reggae, and rock with rap only once in awhile. So to me, the thumping bass from a bass drum is more important than the booming, vibrating bass of an 808 Kick Drum (remember those? the were the shiznit back in the days of early rap). Seriously, I'm not looking to vibrate bones a block away. I just want my bass to hit hard with a quick thump. So I figure I don't need to go down to a 1-ohm load. Right?

So, in a parallel configuration, I realize that two 4-ohm voice coil speakers makes 2 ohms, but the amps "sees" it as 1 ohm. Correct still? And running a pair of 4-ohm speakers in series produces 8 ohms, but does the amp see it as 8 or does it see it as half?

The other possibility is running them in Series and Parallel, right? Isn't this the way to hook up a pair of DVC subs?

I have some charts and graphs from the MECP Study Guide and IASCA Competition Manual, but want to make sure I'm reading them correctly. So any help or picture or diagram of how to hook up a pair of DVC subs to a mono amp that has 2 + and 2 - connectors would truly be appreciated.

If you want to run the amp at 2 Ohms, you should have stuck with the dual 2 ohm drivers. Your only options with the dual 4s are as follows.

Option 1 (parallel/parallel) = 1 ohm load
Voice coils wired in parallel, speakers wired in parallel
Recommended Amplifier: Stable at 1 ohm mono

Option 2 (series/parallel) = 4 ohm load
Voice coils wired in series, speakers wired in parallel
Recommended Amplifier: Stable at 4, 2, or 1 ohm mono

Both of the positive terminals are connected together inside the amp. Both of the negative terminals are also connected together. You can use only one of each and connect the woofers as shown in either picture I posted.

That works, man, thanks! Oh, my previous subs were single voice coil 4-ohm not 2-ohm. So, your diagram is exactly what I needed to know! So, I only use ONE pair of connections, right? ONE positive and ONE negative? Cool. I suppose if there wasn't so much info on this site I could have found this chart, but I'm relying on experts like you to help me now and then, and help me is what you did. I was leaning more toward the Series/Parallel setup due to keeping the amps load a little less strained, but will decide at the last minute.
