I have 2 JL W1V2's 13.5 inch and 2 alpine type r 10's. MTX Thunder 1500RMS/2 amp. 2000 Toyota Solara. Stock speakers. I want new subs that will deliver very high SPL. I'm thinking 1 15" Fi BL. Or maybe 2 10 inch RE SX's. But their 1000RMS and i can only offer 1500. I was also thinking W6 or W3's is it worth it to pay like 200 more for the W6's, are they close to the w7's.
If i got 2 W6v3's would they pound. Like would than 2 13 W1's.
I DONT KNOW WHAT I SHOULD DO!
Your opinion or advise would be awesome! Thanks.
Mike

with that power a 15" RE SX would be nice. or the BTL. i wouldn't get the JL stuff unless you can get a deal on it. but, more importantly, whatever you decide to get just make sure you dont just go and stick it in some pre fab box and expect to get good results.

Well yeah the JL's i would be getting a deal on them, the JL box that has like plastic or fiberglass front, it's not wood, slot port in the middle and 2 w6's for like $400. But yeah i agree with the SX's but i was thinking about going to the 10's because i already have 2 10 inch boxes to the exact specs for a 10 inch RE SX. But i dont know if there strictly 1000 watts rms, or if i could under to it a little and give them like 750 each. I hope under powering them wouldnt love them up.

underpowering them wont do anything just as long as you dont try to compensate by setting the gain sky high on the amp. SX subs are built pretty tough and power ratings are just a base recomendation, not a strict law, so you shouldn't have any problems giving them 750 watts. if you get 2 tens make sure you get them in dual 4 ohm so you can get them down to a 1 ohm total load, if you go for one 15 you should get the dual 2 ohm version. are you planning on going ported or sealed? SX subs love ported boxes but they work fine in a sealed box too.
