suggestions for a new sub/amp setup

I am building a new system and was wondering what you guys thought of this setup. It is just a sub/amp install that I am doing for a high school kid. It is going to be made to get fairly loud and good for deep bass.

Sub: FI Car Audio SSD 15" or 18"
Amp: Audioque A1200D
Amp kit: To be determined
Deck: Stock (Line out converter going to be used)
Enclosure: Custom (any suggestions for specs is welcome)

I know you guys always have good recommendations for equipment so I am hoping you can help me determine if this is a good setup or if I can do better.

The budget is only $500-600 (not including the enclosure) so I can't go with anything too crazy.

sub- good either one 15" or 18"
amp- dont really know
deck- would change. all was have trouble with the in line converters.

It looks like the 15" is going to be the choice. I get a chance to take some measurements and I don't have the room for the 18" sub.

I would prefer to upgrade the deck but the problem is that the person I am building it for has a tight budget. It would a good amount of money to get not only the deck but the install kit and the wiring harness. The truck has Onstart so I need the expensive harness to wire it properly. Also need an antenna adapter.

I don't have much experience with LOCs but if anyone has used a good one before I would like to know.

those audioque amps are killer. i have a competitor i roll with hat has 2 of those on 2 dc 15s and he does constant 153s. but yes the 15 would be better and for the head unit use a bass processor also or line driver to get the voltage up. but yes that equipment is very qualified

Anyone have any other 15" subs that will are around 700-1000 watt RMS that I should look at? They need to be around $250 for price.

yes i do. i have 2 audioque sd2.5 15s. they have less than 90 hours play on them. i can do 250 plus shipping. they are in my car and i take really good car of them. site says they like 600 rms but my amp gives them 1000 rms and they play daily without heating up hardly at all after banging on it for like 20 or 30 minutes continous

I would only have the room for one of them. How does that sub compare to the SSD 15". I'm looking mostly loudness but want to maintain some sound quality as well.

Here are some other subs I was looking at. Any better options then the SSD or the Audioque?

The Dayton is out. It is only 4 ohm SVC and I cannot find an amp that is going to work for the budget I have (atleast a good quality amp).

Any last suggestions? I am planning on buying the SSD tomorrow if no one else has a good suggestion.
