what can happen if i dont disconnect the battery when installing a new stereo?

Did you do it already? If not, take the 20 seconds, Ok just noticed your username, take the 3 minutes, and disconnect it. If you did do it already, what kind of problem are you having with what piece of equipment? Is it a problem only when the motor is running? On a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being the worse you have ever heard, how would you rate the engine noise?

well i did disconnect the battery this time.. engine noise, i dont know same i guess. nothing unusual. the backlights in my truck go dim. dont know if thats from me messin with the stereo months ago and not disconnecting the battery or the alternator or both. not sure if i even disconnected the battery or not. awesum name by the way...
