Subject: head unit treating speakers as subs

Hi, I just installed a 4 channel amp ( 475a infinity reference ). In my 88' Caprice.

It got dark out so I just hooked up my Infinity Kappa 693.7i (6x9s) to the amp.

I left my front speakers hooked up to my deck. as in they were being powered by the decks amp.

All the speakers worked but the rear speakers/ 6x9's only played low frequencies....   After fiddling with the head unit/deck   it looks like the deck is treating the two rear speakers as a sub????   How can i fix this.

Thanks a ton.

Mark

Oh and here's a link to the amp.

I figured since i already linked to my head unit and speakers in question I should link to the amp too.

Turn the crossover on the amp to high pass from low pass.

Top Secret, I can tell you but then my wife will kill me.

What headunit do you have?  Some have the rear rca output setup as subs.  I'm guessing your radio only has 2 sets of preouts.  But, hey I've been wrong a time or two.

forbidden, i have the crossover on the amp to FULL on both channels. So that's not the problem / I've checked that.

Burns25, I have a Pioneer DEH-P4800MP. I linked to it in my first post.

In the stats on crutchfield   it says it has three pairs of pre amp outputs... >_< ??

I figured it out. The speakers work as normal now:) I had put the RCA cables into the preamp subwoofer pair instead of the rear pair.

Silly mistake.    Sorry for the post.

I have 4x6's in the front right now so they aren't amped right now... I'm thinking about putting another set of 6x9's in the rear deck or else puting some components somehow in the front...? Since i'm only using two of the four channels right now...
