sub placement trailblazer

I recently had 2-12inch 8500 MTXs installed in separate boxes in my 05 trailblazer LT. I currently have them at each side of the truck, one to the far left and the other to the far right about 8-12inches from the tailgate. I've only had them in a couple days and haven't had much time to move them around to check out what sounds better. So I was just wondering if I should leave them apart or move them close/next to each other. Currently there is about 1-2ft of space between the boxes and they are ported. I am running a mtx 7801 to the subs.

At least from my experience, keeping the subs close together makes them act as a "point source." If they are 100% in phase, this will give the loudest bass throughout the 'Blazer.

In my RAV4, subs like to face upward, and ports to the rear. This is assuming you have enough space (~12") between the port and the rear hatch. If it's too close, it'll just rattle your back door, without giving you better output. Good luck on the setup.

haha fellow RAV4 bass fiend is right. the closer they are the more defined bass you will get, bass acting in stereo (if you're running them into different channels) will cancel if they are far apart. Make sure you dont block your ports though. Good luck!
