i have have a set of PDX 1.600 amps in my car for a little over a month. they are underneath my driver seat and have been working frin. the other day i was switching out my subs going from 2 10's to 2 12's and suddenly one of the amps is not working. the top blue light on the amp is on but when i look at the from the of the amp, where that removable door is, the left light is blue but the right light is now red. what does that mean? and is there anything i can do to fix it?... without shipping it off to alpine repair center..

When you were changing your woofers, was the amp turned on and playing?

They have no info in the owners manual about either light.  Does it have any writing near it to let you know what it is?

Try disconnecting the speaker and see if it acts normal.  Possibly a shorted speaker.

Solid red light indicates either a shorted speaker output, improper supply voltage or overheating.  As mentioned above, first try disconnecting the speaker(s) and see if it clears.  If so, you have a problem with the speaker.

right now it has no speaker hooked up to it, neither does the one that is working and the red light is still on. i checked the voltage with the multimeter and it looked fine...
yea i was reading the manual it dose not say anything about the lights changing color. i guess ill just wait until tomorrow morning to give alpine a call and see whats up
