I have a 12" Alpine Type R. I'm looking for the right sealed box for my Type-R. How much internal space should the sealed box have for optimal performance? Thank you for your time :].

yeah just want to make sure the box will fit the trunk with ez. The box is going to be about 2.5 tuned to 40hz. that will give the best performance for only having one sub.

well if you want to just buy one i can check on the web for you to get a prefab box close to that size. yes it is a little cheap if you know what you are doing. If you are going to do it your self you need somethings from a hardware store (lowes, home depot)

1.4x8 sheet of 3/4 mdf
2.box of screws (1 lb) 1 5/8" to 2"
3.liquid nail.
4.indoor/outdoor carpet and carpet glue (if you want)or paint

Tools.
1.table or skill saw
2.tape measure
3.router or jigsaw (cut speaker hole out)
4.drill with a drill bite 9/64 pre. drill hole and a + bite (depends on size of screw
5.design with board demotions on them.
6.caulk gun for liquid nail

which ever way you go is fine with me.

If you want me to make im me and we will talk just let me know

I live in Michigan, That is what I do is make boxes for people VIBRATION CUSTUM SOUNDS. I sell boxes on ebay and other places, Most boxes that I see over the net for that sub is between $125 and $180. Which is about right. If you make it and have all the tools to build the box, you can cut the labor out of the cost of the box because you are making it your self. This is what I will do, design something for you and you can make it, If it does not turn out the way you want it then let me know and I will see if I can do about get you a box ok
