Just wondering guys. I have a set up to where I have 2 15's 8500 mtx each getting a 1000's watts rms. ( I know they can't take the full power of these amps gains or turn down) Been looking at the w7 13's but the output when you go to mtx's web site and compare each sub is only 1.09 db higher. To me this is not worth spending all that money for only such a little gain. Does any one have a ideal what sub would beat these by at least 3-6 db and still be within the 1000 watt rms range that it can handle. Also like the ideal of a cone that I can replace on the spot without siding it in to get fixed.

Been looking at the Orion hcca's anyone have experience with these? But I'm open to all ideal but not upgrading power because just brought these amps.

O and I knows that hcca's take 2000 rms vs' as the amps only make 1000 rms. Will this be a problem trying to drive these subs and will it be louder. As if you guys think of any other sub out there thats better give me ideals. As I went into my local car audio dealer he steered me aways from orion. He says there junk. But i'm not stupid. He doesn't sale it that's why. I'm open to all ideals.

orion is not what they used to be. this is true. if you are looking for straight loudness then you might not get better results with W7's. BUT, i believe W7's are probably some of the best sounding subs around. they have way more mechanical capability than your mtx 8500's and if you put them in the right box they should blow your subs away. it really depends on how well you match the W7's with a good box that will fit your needs. W7 are not all that though, it took 3 13W7's to beat my single 18 by a 10th of a decibel so its hard to tell which would be louder, it all depends on the total setup.

It is sad that you believe the MTX site "woofer comparison".

Every install is different...that is marketing...and you believed it.

and wasn't that comparison between the MTX 9500 and the W7, not the 8500?

I dont believe the site. Think before you comment. azndobi 36644 I know the sub that I was comparing play louder at different Hz's w7. I was just getting everyone's ideal on what they think.

No not really or I wouldn't have asked. I know that they don't show a graph of how loud and what hertz the sub is playing at. I was just using it as a tool to go by not as a bible.

well, if you have a set of 8500's now, then even if you get the 9500's it could be a good gain but like i said earlier it all depends on the total setup. i bet if you had a new box designed for your 8500's you could see some gain over what you have now. dont be so quick to think that you need new equipment

Yeah I built the big the biggest I could get it to get it in and out of my truck. lol i'm in no rush to spend any money. I think the box is around 1.6 somethng I need to do the math again. It's a couple of years old. The box is sealed also. Just the w8 or nice but they really cost alot. The 9500's or to. Just kinda had to decided on what to upgrade to because there are alot of speakers better then when the 8500 but I want to stay within the 1000 watt range to each sub because not trying to upgrade the alternator.
