i was wondering what the best way to install a second amp if my headunit only has 1 rca output. my bass is drownig out my mids/highs so i want to install a 2nd amp and add a set of components in the rear deck. i do all my own installation but never had to run a 2nd amp. so i want to know the correct way to wire it. i would really appreciate it thanks

It is common for some amplifiers to be outfitted with an RCA input jack, and a set of outputs also. If neither of your amps are equipped with an output, you will need to purchase a set of Y adapters. They are sold is several varieties. If you are planning a future upgrade to a deck that has multiple outputs, I would recommend placing the Y adapter behind the radio and go ahead and run a new patch cord from there to the second amp. If that is what you are going to do, when you purchase the Y adapters, you need to tell the salesman that you need a pair of "1 Male and 2 Female" Y Adapters.

That depends on what size your power wire is, and how much power the 2 amps are. The remote wire will be fine if you jump from one to the other. Each amp should have it's own ground wire, grounded to it's own spot on the chassis of the vehicle.

Well I am one of those idiots and I really think you would be better off using the capacitor as a distribution block for the power wire. Then it would at least have a purpose. To install it "right" as you stated, you really need to have a ground for each amplifier. But what do I know?
