I have just spent 3 days trying to get my aftermarket radio working and after a lot of basic trial and error I have the stereo working and my powered antenna goes up and down as it should.  I had to cut off the harness that was on the car because I my harness had 15 points to it and the one I bought that was supposed to be for the car only had 10.  I have been told that my car should have a factory amp as well.  My problem now is that I wired my radio up according to the diagram on this sight and I have a few things that are different, I do not know if this is because I should have bypassed the factory amp somehow or what.  Right now I am just trying to get the radio working right before I install my pioneer amp and sub.  The radio I am installing is a Sony cdx-GT23w.  I have been told that a blue wire from my radio wiring harness needs to go to either my factory amp or my aftermarket amp, I can do neither since I have my solid blue wire going to my BLACK/ red car wire which is the antenna trigger and the other blue/white wire connected to a male end coming from my car that was plugged into my factory stereo but will have no where to go in the new stereo since there is only one female point in the new stereo for the antenna lead.  This is the only way I could get my stereo to come on stay on and my antenna to move up and down correct.  So what I am left with is speakers not wired correct because the wires that I have identified do not match this sights diagram.  I have PURPLE as my illumination wire, took me 2 days to figure that one out, it is listed as the LF(-) on my diagram, so that is taped and will not be used, I have a green wire unused which should be a speaker wire but is listed as the illumination wire on the chart, and I have a Lt green wire which is listed as RF(+) on my chart but this I don't think can be correct because this wire has a -12v charge.  From my harness I have a WHITE/ black wire and a Gray, and according to my count that means I have 2 speaker wires for 1 spot?  I tried to connect Lt green to blue/white to make the antenna work since it has a -12v just like what I have it connected to now, and it did make the antenna go up and down however the radio would like short out and start flashing.

you can take a battery and pop the speakers...Worst case...Go to Ignition Harness for 12v and Accessory...Ground on chassis...It said amp location was right of glovebox...Was it there? You can put wore then 1 wire on the Blue/White although i am confused as to where that is going. When you hacked the harness off, did you at least leave enough room to re-attach...?

The factory amplifier is directly behind the radio and down about 4 or 5 inches and will have two bolts securing it (can't remember if they are 8mm or 10mm).  If you look where the harness leads to, you'll find your factory amplifier.  The harness that you bought (should be two plugs) will plug into the two plugs you remove from the factory amplifier.  You should then just connect your radio harness to the toyota harness and plug it right in.  The deck is also iso mounted with the factory brackets....meaning that you have to remove the brackets from the factory radio and mount your sony radio in place of the factory radio.  The trim ring for your sony will fit with some modification, but is easier to install without it and it'll still look good.  This is really not a difficult car and if you got the dash out without breaking anything then you should be able to install the deck.  You should not have to cut ANY factory wires....since you already did, repair them and start over with this info.
