Have a friend with a 2004 chevy colorado extended cab(with the jumpseats i believe) He had a custom sealed enclosure built for the back. Internal volume on the box is 1 cubic foot. He will be putting in a single RF 10' p3 that is dual 4 ohm and running that to a kenwood kac-7203 amplifier. The box is about .30 cubic feet too big for the sub and also the amp is a two channel which is not the best amp for his sub. Considering what he has would running the sub to a single channel on the amp with the voice coils in parallel be the most power he can pull from the amp? Or should he run it as series in 8 ohm load and bridge to the amp? Also will this box be alright for a SQ enclosure? Thanks for any input

Two options...he could either wire both 4 ohm voice coils directly to the amp (stereo), or wire the coils together in series to get an 8 ohm impedance and bridge the amp. I would use the second option myself. Wiring the coils in parallel to yield a 2 ohm impedance is possible with that sub, but the amp would more than likely heat up and go into thermal protect mode as it's not stable in a 2 ohm mono setup.

Series 8 Ohm or one coil per channel. Do not just use one channel of the amp.
