I was reading a topic in the stickied topics section about using 1 vc on a dvc sub and i came across,a statement that said you can use a resistor on the unused vc to "tune" a sub.It had a link but it was not able to be found ,Does anyone have info on this subject?

That was a white paper written by Dan Wiggins, address not found anymore. It was adireaudio.com/Files/TechPapers/DualVoiceCoilDrivers.pdf . I don't know where to find his writings now. I believe Steven Kephart is knowledgeble on that subject as he has worked with Dan Wiggins in the past. If I recall correctly, the resistor helps the unused coil dissipate radiant heat. I haven't worked with such a setup though. ------------- Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.

Yes, you can adjust the Q of the woofer that way. Here's the paper referenced above: https://www.adireaudio.com/Files/DualVoiceCoilDrivers.pdf ------------- Support the12volt.com

I read the pdf ,thanks dyhon. Does anyone know what type and size resistor I would need, and also what is a potentiometer? How would I create a Qts adjustable knob?Ianariian read the pdf very insightful!!!My subs a re audio sr 12 dvc 4ohm 300 watts rms per vc.

A potentiometer is a variable resistor. You can use it to change the resistance, and thus change the Q of the sub. That is the adjustable knob you would be referring to.
