Thinking of buying an Oscilloscope to better adjust the amps I install.  Is this one any good.  https://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?partnumber=320-290

If not, got any recommendations?

Thanks

For basic use it doesn't seem too bad (especially at that price).

I would get an AC adapter for it so you don't burn through the 5 AA batteries.

The downside of is is it is only single channel and has no data output.  If you are going to consider that unit you should also consider some of the USB o'scopes that use a laptop (if you have a laptop).  I think you'll get more features for the same or less money going that route.

Other then those drawbacks (which at that price really arn't drawbacks) if it works as advertised it would be a great little scope for setting gains.

Have one... Like it. I don't love it. It will eat you out of house and home in the AA department. It does do what it's supposed to do, and with the few shortcomings it does have, I personally think it's still worth it.

Also, DO NOT LEAVE BATTERIES IN IT! When you are done using it, remove them. Trust me on this one... It continues to draw current from them even when off, and once the batteries go dead, they will leak, and ruin the battery compartment.

For the price, I think it's a fantastic little 'scope. Do yourself a favor... Get a set of high capacity rechargeables and HC charger.

It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

Er, I think I made a mistake.

I have a Velleman PCSU1000 USB O'scope (in addition to my desktop scope).  I guess I paid closer to $400 for it, so for $200 that unit is probably a better deal.
