i recently installed 3 12"  4ohm subs powered by a Power Acoustik BAMF 2000/1d monoblock amp...the subs are wired paralell with each other (amp to the 1st sub...1st to the 2nd...and 2nd to the 3rd)...the amp shuts off the subs when the volume is about medium......how can i remedy this

Are the speakers single or dual voice coil?

That amp is supplsed to be able to run those speakers.  Have you cehcked voltage at the power and ground terminals of the amp,  when the amp is playing just below the level in which it cuts out?

i was wonderin if it could be beacause of 1 bad subwoofer... would that turn them all off as a precaution to protect the other 2subs

if one of your subs is fried then it actually would help your amp, but only if it was completely fried and not just shorting out when it moves in and out.  do you have a voltage meter? preferably digital?

nope...i dont own 1 of those.....was jus wondering with my last question because just before the volume gets to where the subs shut off the middle sub sounds like its blown...like the coils are rubbin on the inside or sumthing

Disconnect the middle sub and see if it still cuts out.

You most likely need to set your gain properly.  https://www.the12volt.com/installbay/forum_posts.asp~TID~85479~PN~1

My vote would also be for resetting you gains. There could also be a voltage loss. Go pick up a cheap DMM, it will come in handy in the future and they are just good to have around. When you get your multimeter measure the voltage across the positive and negative power terminals of the amp. If you are dropping way below 12 volts and then them amp cuts out that is most likely your problem.

It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

It absolutely could be that.  It could simply be unstable below 2-ohms no matter what the specs claim.
