I'm worried that I might be putting too much stress on my electrical system and am curious what upgrades I should do to alleviate any worries I have. I have a 97 civic with a pdx 4.100 for my mids and and 2 pdx 1.600 for my 2 12" type r's. As of yet I have not had the time to do the big 3 upgrade.
After I do my big 3 upgrade should I also get a HO alternator and/or a deep cycle battery? From what I've been reading, a HO alternator should be all I need but I want to get some advice from others before I make this purchase.
If you have any questions regarding specifics of my current set up, I'd be glad to answer, as I want to finish this project correctly.

Great amp choice! The efficiency is certainly working for you.
The Big 3 is a must. A HO Alt is going to be your best purchase.
People bitch about the cost of a HO Alt mean while the'll spend
hundreds on additional batteries and Caps just be to back where
they started. Batteries, I'm not an Optima fan.

I figured that would be the case. I have two other questions then. I can do the Big 3 fairly soon, but how long can I hold off on getting the HO alternator. At the moment I'm pretty short on funds, and the money will be going other places that is more needed. As it stands until September or October is when I'll have the money for a new alternator. The alternator I have now has maybe 10,000 or less miles on it, and I drive less than 15 miles, at most 5 times a week.
Unfortunately I do not have access to a volt meter other than the one from my head unit, which I dont exactly trust. Idling it posts the voltage at 12v and while in higher rpm's it posts high 13's.
The last question is where I could look for high output alt's at. I know of https://www.ohiogen.com/index.html and there were a few other places I saw but didn't have a whole lot of information. Any other quality manufacturers would be a great help if you know of any other websites I could look into.

Ohio gen is good...Do The Big 3 FIRST... Whats the voltage dropping to during normal listening volume...? Are you having dimming issues...? What kind of sub box...?
