My Clarion HU has a 6v preamp voltage and I want to use my Alpine ERE-G190 Sub Processor/Parametric Equalizer, but I don't want to degrade my preamp voltage. Will using the equalizer cause a degradation in my preamp voltage or no?

Are you using automotive amplifiers?

A degradation in the preamp voltage?  No, the preamp will supply whatever signal it provides to the EQ.  The output voltage from the EQ will be dependent on the EQ, however, so your amps will never directly see the output from the preamp, they will only get the output from the EQ.

Right...So, my amps won't see 6v, but will they at least see some voltage or are you saying that unless the EQ provides preamp voltage my amps won't see any at all. Sorry to be nagging i just want to make sure I'm clear

As long as you are not using commercial amplifiers, Crown, Crest, Peavey, Etc.  The alpine preamp will have plenty enough voltage for your needs.

Technically it is a preamp, but that's not the point.  The output from your Clarion will feed the EQ.  The output from the EQ will feed your amplifier.  Simple.
