well where i live its always like over 100 degrees this whole week been like 105-110 or 120 on the heat index but my question is my amp is getting super hott and i dont want it to fry.. i was told i should bracket a fan on it to circulate the heat away from it.. i have a small BLACK car attracts soo much heat and the trunk is soo small it doesnt get any fresh air its like a damn oven in the back.. what do i do?

Circulating some air might help...The push/pull method maybe,going across the heat sinks...? Is the amp shutting down...? What kind of amp...? What kind of subs...? Have you ever properly set the gain...? What ohm load do you have currently...?

I feel your pain, I am a state to the East of you. I seem to remember that the time that you posted this, (Hint Hint) it was 98 or above for close to 14 days in a row.

sorry buddy.. i posted it the same day i sent you that message.. i havent had the money to add it because i had to pay other bills and all that.. anyways thanks tho... oh its been above 105 for like 2 months yesterday it was 107 so yea pretty hot

It can get blistering hot here Florida as well... and it's humid to boot.
I also recommend the fans, it's a simple fix, well.. could be..
I've also made a few boxes with active exhaust/passive intake.
Meaning, (i'm going off of one of my past designs, since i don't know specifics of your situation) my amp was in a hidden enclosure, and to deal with the humidity i cut a few "decorative" slots and vents in the box covering the amp up, (picture fender chrome air vents on high end vehicles) on one end on the enclosure, and then placed a small 4in box fan (cpu fan) on the other end. This method is called active exhaust/passive intake, because since the fan pulled air out from inside the box, the air coming in (intake) is passive working in conjunction with the air being forcefully pulled out (active).
This setup cost me about $80, because of the chrome vents, you can do a sorta similar, and effective setup for roughly $10 (not using the chrome vents).

Would that effect the size of the ports...? You have added these to pre-fab boxes...or just the one box you mentioned in the post...? Did you experience any negatives in the fan building process...Different sound from subs...fans rattling...etc...?
