epicenter?

I am curious how much of a difference an epicenter makes, I've been looking at Audiocontrol Epicenter. I have 2 Alpine Mrd-M1005 amps each one hooked up to an RE Audio SX12. How much more of a differnce would it make? Would it be worth it to add one?

Perhaps not that item in particular. It definitely will change the sound, but seldom for the better in your case. Thinking your missing something? I personally, was never completely content with my system's until I got my first electronic crossover. Hopefully someone can shed light on why they are not recommended more frequently. All the people I know use them and wouldnt have it any other way. Here is some alternatives that work too.. basscontrol-BC1, Maxxsonics MX-3 Bass Controller

Are they supposed to clean up the signal or give you a few more decibles? I guess Like I said it gets plenty loud, I'm just willing to try something. What did it do for the people you know?

All these bass restoration devices will inject or better said "fake" low frequencies. Its great for band music or music in general with no bass. To "normal" music it will completly add tons of distortion.... It has limited uses.

Every time I have heard a system with and w/o the x-over, not once did I think that the sound did not improve significantly enough to justify its use. I cant explain the difference in the method used from each devices filtering process. I just opiniarian that it brings everything together, especially when the system has mismatched output capabilities. Say for instance, a single 10" sub with four 6" mids. I asked some friends about it today though, and like me, we run our systems "Bi-amped" I believe is the common term. So in our case its more imperative than yours. I

I guess, the best way would be to go to a local shop and ask if they have a display model. And try it. I use it with my paisa (mexican) customers, it gives their "cirridos" lots of bass.

an epicenter in my opinion is nothing but a fancy bass boost. if you HAVE subwoofers and dont like the way they sound then an epicenter is ok to a degree. but if you are just wanting one because you dont think they are loud enough and plan to just buy one and turn it all the way up then you can potentially destroy your subs and/or amp. electronic signal enhancement is just plain dangerous in the wrong hands.
