thx - I found this one  under 2008 and 2006.  Was not sure if it is the same as the 2009 since I have 2 orange wires.  I can't seem to figure out which orange is pos and if one is neg.  Any ideas?

With the above diagram - I have all the speakers hooked up.  I have the red wire from the radio going to one of the two orange wires (I believe the 12V from the car).  I have the yellow to the other orange.  I have some what power - I can insert and eject the cd but it will not turn on.  I don't think I have the yellow wire from the radio hooked up to the correct wire from the truck.  Any ideas?  I found stuff on line stating that I need to wire the pink from the steering column to the yellow.  thx

You should be using a radio delete module. This would provide you with the correct wiring and give you a switched ignition feed for your new radio. The smaller of the 2 orange wires is the Class II data bus wire. Disconnect your radio from this. Using a module will also allow your chimes to still work which are a vehicle safety item. If you decide to connect to the ignition harness, tap into the brown wire and install a fuse within a few inches of your connection.

Thanks Sparky -

I guess I am having a hard time figuring out why the wires from the radio don't match up with what is coming from the truck (not talking about the colors not matching up).  The module from the truck is nothing but a piece of plastic that has all the wires shoved in it and then goes into the OEM radio.  I understand one orange wire is the 12V and the other is for the data bus, but what makes this so difficult to take the appropriate wires and match them up with out having to splice into an ignition wire?  Maybe I'm being to simplistic or too dumb.

The module isn't just a piece of plastic. It is a device that derives a signal from the data bus to energize a relay which acts like the retained accessory power feed which your radio needs to turn on. It also converts the data signals for various chime functions and creates the correct tones in your left front audio channel. These chimes are required in certain areas for a vehicle to pass a safety inspection. Radio delete modules also take the guess work out for which wire is which. If they weren't needed, do you really think that there would be so many different versions of them available.
