If you sell them/own a shop: it is your opinion I am looking for. Are they worth it if space is an issue? I'm not employed in a shop anymore and the only experience I had was with a PG 9" midbass which was aweful. If there is only enough room for one 10" sub and the box can only be total of under a cubic foot, what are the options; choke out a regular sub, or go with a shallow mount? He doesn't need ground pounding bass, but wants to "feel it driving down the road a little." Thanks.

MTX makes a decent one. Pioneer, Earthquake... just build the biggest box you have room for! By no means will you get ground pounding bass... just be forwarned. these are a bandaide -------------

Practical use, Kenwood Excelon. The Pioneer Premiere is ok, the Earthquake sucks, same with the Clarion.

Depending on the airspace...i'd say pioneer.. or kicker CVT

I use the BFI method: Brute Force and Ignorance.
I get the highest power handling, regular, everyday tech, standard woofer I can find, put it in an enclosure that is WAY WAY WAY too small for it, power it to within an inch of it's life, and then EQ it's output into the curve I want...
This method worked for Bob Carver and his world famous "Sunfire" sub, and if it works for him, it's good enough for me! :P~ Generally not seriously recommended in the REAL world, but a very usable option.

i also wanted to go down this ' shallow ' sub route , to try and save space. after all the research i did, people were'nt happy with the pioneer. they said it sounded ok, but was'nt solidly made. most people said the mtx was the one to go for, it was a decent all-rounder. but i opted to purchse x2 10" woofers from jbl and said to hell with having the extra space in the car, its only going to get occupied with various other junk anyways. ( ive yet to hook up the jbl's , im currently running a 12" ported box from jbl ). ------------- live by the ford,die by the ford.
